An Inivitation

Dearest Meditator,

“I think I found the perfect place for us. It’s secluded, luxurious, and ideal for a getaway… and they can host us this fall!”

“Tell me more! I can hardly believe this is finally happening after all this time.”

For years now, we’ve been dreaming of this. Over chai and quiet chats in India, phone calls back in the States, and those soul-stirring moments on retreat, this vision kept returning.

To bring our communities together.
To create space for connection, expansion, and a reset that lasts far beyond the weekend.

And now, it’s happening.

This fall, we invite you to join us in the Hudson Valley for a long-weekend Rounding Retreat, designed to deliver exactly what your body, mind, and spirit have been craving: deep meditation, profound rest, and true relaxation.

When you step away from the demands of daily life and immerse yourself in your own inner wellspring, you begin to unwind layers of stress that would otherwise take six months of regular meditation at home to release.

The best part? It doesn’t feel like effort.
This is not a rigid detox. It is not a bootcamp.
It is deeply satisfying. Rich with presence, nourishment, and joy, you’ll savor each moment and wish it lasted longer.

Vacations are lovely, but they end. Monday morning rolls around, and it’s back to the same old grind.
This is different.

Rounding Retreats create real change.
They equip you with the internal upgrades that stay with you.
More capability. More clarity. More calm.
You return not only refreshed, but transformed.
More resilient. More present. More connected to your birthright of bliss.

So come with us.
Join us for a weekend of stillness, joy, and inner renewal.
Say yes to a reset that nourishes every part of you and carries you forward with strength and peace.

We can’t wait to welcome you.

Love and Jai Guru Deva,
Susan & Emily

WHAT IS ROUNDING?

Known as “industrial strength meditation,” Rounding is an enjoyable practice that prepares your mind and body for a profoundly deep meditation.

A ‘Round’ is a specific sequence of the following relaxing activities:

  • 10 minutes of gentle asanas (stretches that anyone can do)
  • 5 minutes of an easy breathing exercise
  • 20 minutes of Vedic Meditation
  • 10 minutes of lying down rest

On a Rounding Retreat, we perform multiple Vedic Rounding sequences in a day for transformational stress release.

Rounding on retreat provides the equivalent stress release of 6 months of twice-daily meditation.

Meet Susan

  • After 14 years working on Wall Street in New York, Susan turned to Vedic Meditation to find resilience in the chaos. The practice was so effective in quickly eliminating stress and overwhelm in her life that she left her successful corporate career to study and teach Vedic Meditation full time.
  • One of the biggest shifts that Susan felt after integrating Vedic Meditation in her life was a feeling of total understanding – and celebration – for the twists and turns in her life journey. She began to see change in life as her greatest advantage to co-create the life that felt truly authentic and inspired.
  • In 2017, after two years of study and immersing herself in a 12-week training program in India with Thom Knoles, Susan was inducted as a Vedic Meditation teacher in the highest order.
  • Today, Susan loves inspiring transformation in her students and clients along their path of personal growth.
  • She especially enjoys leading Rounding Retreats, where she helps retreaters rest deeply, experience optimal well-being and unlock their fullest potential.

Meet Emily

Emily was raised in the quintessential town of Westport, Connecticut. She went to Elon University and studied psychology and received a Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology, by the age of 23.

She lived in Los Angeles and New York City as a young adult, managing the careers of artists, musicians and celebrity clientele while enjoying lots of yoga on the side.

Along the way, in her own search for truth and bliss, she discovered Vedic Meditation and soon began the path toward becoming a teacher.

Emily grew as a teacher after graduating from her training in India in 2018 and going from living in an apartment in New York City to traveling and teaching worldwide.

She’s taught everywhere from Canada, to the Netherlands, Australia, Israel, India and throughout the United States.

In October 2023, Emily Co-founded a non-profit with the initiative to bring the practice of meditation into conflict zones and spent two months teaching in the middle east during war time.

Today, Emily continues to teach Vedic Meditation and is based in Hudson, New York with her dog Lucy. She teaches throughout the Hudson Valley with frequent travels to Austin, Texas and around the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend a Rounding retreat?

This retreat is open to all graduates of an in-person Vedic Meditation course.

If I don’t yet practice Vedic Meditation, can I still register?

You may register for the Rounding retreat now and make arrangements to learn Vedic Meditation before the start of the retreat.

I haven’t shared a room with someone on a retreat before. What’s that like?

If you’re used to having your own room, we understand it you might be curious about sharing a room on retreat.

Rest assured, room pairings are taken very seriously as we plan your experience on retreat. We take great care in understanding your sleeping patterns and preferences, and use all the information you provide to pair you up with the most compatible roommate for the retreat.

We should also mention that there is very little time spent in the rooms! Between Rounding, meals, wisdom sessions, and relaxation time on the expansive property, meditators find that they don’t spend much time in their rooms, except for sleeping at night.

There are plenty of tucked away, private nook and crannies all around the main house and property at large for you to luxuriate in, should you feel the need for more privacy.

We find that meditators who embrace adaptability and openness walk away with a lifelong friend in their roommate at the end of retreats.

What will the food be like? Do you cater to dietary restrictions?

Our Rounding Retreat will feature gourmet farm-to-table, vegetarian meals prepared onsite. There will be gluten-free and dairy-free options at every meal; please let us know if you have any additional restrictions, preferences, or allergies.

What happens if I release stress physically or emotionally on my Rounding retreat?

Stress release is a normal and natural process of participating in a residential Rounding Retreat.

While most experiences on retreat are blissful and joyous, one may experience some temporary fatigue or emotional release as layers of stress are released from the physiology.

We will be personally overseeing the Vedic rounding experiences of all meditators on retreat and will gently guide you through the process of release.

What is the refund policy for this event?

All payments are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your attendance for any reason, we will do our best to fill your space and refund you the retreat fee minus your initial $1,000.
